Masck
35 W. Ontario, Chicago
Tuesday, August 2, 2005 - 6 p.m.
This new eatery is a downtown extension of the popular Deerfield-based spot. Wonder about the odd spelling of the restaurant's name? MASCK is actually an acronym for the first initials of owners Kevin and Michelle Nierman and their three children. The Nierman's play-up the 'mask' theme -- look for a dramatic hand-painted wall mural where all the characters are wearing masks, plus other quirky mask accents throughout the colorful space.
Steven Raichlen is an award-winning author; journalist; cooking teacher; and TV host -- and the man who gave barbecue a college education. His best-selling Barbecue Bible cookbook series, 3 million copies in print; and Barbecue University TV show on PBS have virtually reinvented American barbecue.
