The Château du Pavillon is an eighteenth-century chartreuse from Bordeaux. Built on a hillside, the castle overlooks the 27 acres domain. 18 acres have a southwestern exposure and the soil is composed of clay limestone with a rare subsoil of tertiary shells. This part of the domain overlooks the Garonne River and the Cirons, its tributary. As their waters mix together, the autumnal fog comes to existence, specific to this region and essential in the development of the noble rot that give character to the dessert wines of Loupiac and Sainte-Croix-du-Mont yielded by this soil.
